Ronald N. Giddiens
2004 Honorary Alumnus
Born in Bonham, Texas, Ron Giddiens earned a BBA from Baylor University in 1969. In 1976 he graduated from Southern Methodist University's Graduate School of Banking and served as a lecturer there for ten years.

Before moving to San Angelo, Giddiens worked for Republic Nation
al Bank in Dallas. In 1974 he joined Westside National Bank of San Angelo as Executive Vice President, and was named President in 1979. The bank underwent several mergers throughout the next several years--Westside National Bank to Bank of the West in 1984; Boatmen's in 1995; Nations Bank in 1998; and finally, Bank of America. He retired as President and CEO in 1998. Currently Giddiens is a partner in D&G Consulting, a general business consulting and planning firm .

Giddiens has a long history of civic and community involvement. He is a Past President of the San Angelo Better Business Bureau, Credit Bureau of San Angelo, and San Angelo Buisiness/Education Coalition. He has served on the Board of Directors of the San Angelo YMCA, San Angelo Council Boy Scouts of America, San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, and United Way of the Concho Valley (including Treasurer and Allocations Committee Chairman of the United Way). Currently, Giddiens serves on the San Angelo National Bank Board of Directors.

Giddiens has been an avid supporter of Angelo State University for many years. He is a past ASU Ram Club President and member for more than twenty years, and is a past director of the ASU President's Circle. He was a spotter for the ASU National Championship football game which was televised by ABC in 1978. Giddiens has worked in the ASU press box during the Angelo State University home football games for more than 20 years and has been the game announcer for more than fifteen years.

Giddiens and wife, Janie, have two children, Jennifer and spouse, Dr. Chad Johnson, and Scott (ASU Class of 1999) and spouse, Iva Dakovska Giddiens (ASU Class of 2000). In 2003, two granddaughters were added to the family.
