Bryan Vincent
2006 Distinguished Carr Alumnus
Bryan Vincent is the co-founder, President & CEO of the San Angelo-based AgiLight Inc. The company manufactures low-energy, low-cost lighting products such as LED lighting for signs and backlights for mobile phones.
Vincent received his bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in Chemistry and Biology in 1994. He was a Carr Scholar and a Texaco Academic Scholar. He also received the first Carr Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
Although making studying a priority, Vincent also found time to meet his wife, Brandi, also an ASU graduate, Class of 1994. A particular point of pride for Vincent was the fact that upon graduation, he was presented his ASU diploma by his grandfather, Dr. Lloyd D. Vincent, President of ASU at the time.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Vincent pursued his doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from Texas A&M. While at A&M, he received several awards for his research and academic achievements including the Outstanding Graduate Research Presentation Award, the Sharon Dabney Award for Outstanding Graduate Research and the Celanese Award for Top Graduate Student in Chemistry.
Upon receiving his doctorate in 1998, Vincent went to work as a senior research chemist for Dow Chemical Company. Two years later, he and his family moved to Midland, Mich., to work as an inventor/ product development manager for READ Display Technology which resulted in three issued patents.
In 2003, Vincent moved back to his native San Angelo to become an independent businessman. He and his partner founded AgiLight Inc. which has grown from a start-up business to having more than 20 employees and manufacturing plants in Mexico, China and Taiwan and customers worldwide. Through his chosen career, he is able to fulfill his love of traveling and learning about new people and cultures.
Bryan and Brandi are celebrating 12 years together and despite his many career successes, names his three children Paige, J. Bryan and Jenna as his greatest achievement.
