Dr. Joseph C. Rallo, fourth president of Angelo State University, joined the university on June 1, 2007. During his first week on the job, Dr. Rallo joined the ASU Alumni Association Board of Directors for lunch and spoke briefly on his immediate goals and initiatives for Angelo State University.
Dr. Rallo identified three key initiatives that will engage the campus over the coming weeks and months: an opportunity to create an integrated visual identity for our marketing efforts, to energize the "first-year experience" initiative aimed at retaining through graduation the bright and talented students who join us as freshmen, and to address student housing issues. The university will begin a critical campus-wide strategic planning process in the fall.
Regarding the transition to the Texas Tech University System, Dr. Rallo has said, "The energy displayed by individuals and groups over the past few months to take an idea and translate it into a defined outcome has been truly amazing."
